Phase 3 What do online students need beyond Week 2 and for the remainder of the semester?

  • How to find and utilize college resources for academic, financial, & personal support

Opportunity to participate in a social learning community, either a "college success" community for first year students, or an professional program community for declared majors.
Some kind of identity icon—t-shirt, keychain, car sticker, etc.

What else do online students need to know beside what is listed above?
Students enrolled in programs leading to a license or other credential need to begin the process of preparing for exams, internships, etc. They need to prepare from day one and need support in ways to do that.
Students should contact Career Services and learn about various assessments if unsure of major. Learn about career development (i.e. career vs. job).

Who will assume responsibility for delivering these services?
Student affairs, departmental staff and faculty, student leaders

What is the best delivery method for these services?
Email outreach from coordinators, facebook sites, google sites
Self-Directed Search assessment, MBTI or Strong's Inventory
Career development workshops

They provide for belonging, they allow students to explore individual interests
